The story of Saltwater Inn Westport begins in 1963, when the Islander Motel first opened its doors in the heart of Westport, Washington. Over the decades, this iconic waterfront destination became a gathering place for families, fishing crews, beach lovers, and wedding guests — all drawn by the charm of the Pacific Coast.
In recent years, our family took the helm with a deep love for Westport's seaside spirit. Through a thoughtful renovation and heartfelt care, we revived this beloved property — restoring it to its rightful place as “the place to stay in Westport".

From Sea to Shore: Our Roots in Hospitality
Our journey in hospitality began on the Atlantic coast of Maine, where one of our owners started as a housekeeper with a dream — to one day own and operate a seaside inn. That dream grew into successful lodging ventures in Lincoln City, Oregon, before destiny called us back to Westport, Washington.
Why Westport? Because it’s home. In 1980, our father purchased the charter boat Drifter and spent his days working on the harbor, living the rhythms of the sea and community. When the opportunity to revive the Islander Motel arose, it felt like returning to family — to a place where our story and the town’s story intertwine.
